Since I made a scarf for my mother-in-law for Christmas, I also made one for my father-in-law and here it is!
This one is thicker since it uses the Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn. These particular colors are the left overs from the Pizza Man! Rug/Blanket that I made for my daughter. I really liked all these colors and they look great together! You'll need almost 1 skein of each color to complete this scarf which is 6 feet long.
The pattern is very simple so this is a great pattern for beginners and those who want a little practice or a project that they can zone out with. It is Double Crochet throughout with a few colors changes that are explained below for those who are not familiar with color changes.
Items Needed:
Size 9mm crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick - 1 skein each - Barley (Color A): Oatmeal (B); and Spice (C).
Abbreviations:
CH - Chain
DC - Double Crochet
How to change color at the end of the row: Before finishing the final double crochet (first picture), pull through a loop of the new color (second picture), turn and continue with pattern (third picture).
Note: When the color is changed for only 1 row, I carried the other yarn along the back. If it was more than 1 row, I cut it off. Just be careful that you don't pull the carried yarn tight or the scarf won't have any give to it in that area.
