For those cool times of the day, to dress up your wardrobe, or warm you up on the inside and the outside.
Hands down the prettiest, most fun yarn I've worked with yet.
This is Lion Brand Yarn CupCake and the color is called Blue Citrus. I have been in love with this yarn for months! I have a few of the cakes and I have actually made several versions of this wrap that I wasn't satisfied with. The yarn looked fantastic but they didn't work functionally due to the shaping. So, I have made and ripped apart this same yarn several times. It still looks just as good!
The yarn is 100% acrylic and comes in 24 different colorways. The yarn has about 7 different colors, that complement each other, in each cake. There are 590 yards in each cake which was perfect for this project! It's a yarn weight 3 and has a size 5mm crochet hook recommended, which was what I used.
This pattern requires only 1 skein. However, if you would like to make it longer you can easily do so by repeating the given pattern. You could also use a complimentary cake colorway to add more colors to your wrap. I was very tempted to do this, but I'm actually very happy with the overall size as is.
The pattern is beginner friendly and as such is a great way to practice. The pattern is single crochet; single crochet, chain 1; half double crochet; half double crochet, chain 1; double crochet; double crochet, chain 1; treble crochet; treble crochet, chain 1. At each row there is also a varying decrease. The finished piece is about 8 feet long at the longest point and about 3 feet 5 inches long at the shortest point (bottom).
